MILK!

Joey is currently enjoying his first cup of cows milk! Oh my gawd they grow so fast!

Oops I've left it a week...

Its been a pretty busy week, so I do have a reason for having not checked in.

Chris told me two weeks ago "as a joke" that he was going to propose today at 3pm prompt. It is now 3.22pm so I'm a little disappointed!

Ella had her hair cut. Took a little persuations to get her in the chair, but once she was sitting there she was good as gold.

Joey has taken 6-7 steps, lots of times in a row. The excitement is one-way though, as he couldn't care less, and only does it because I make him! lol.

For his birthday I have bought him a vtech alphabet train station, and a leafrog hug and learn baby tad. I was just soooo lost for ideas, especially after christmas!

Ooh I got a new printer! It is SOOOO snazzy. Epson Stylus Photo RX620, if that means anything to anyone. It prints amazing photos! It's my new toy! (first the camera, then the dyson, now the printer!!)

Ella's getting a haircut!

Ella has requested she have a hair cut. My best friend when I was younger is a hairdresser and I have just discovered she works at the salon right round the corner!!! So we went in yesterday and saw some ladies having their hair cut and I asked Ella if she was SURE she wanted it cut. She was very excited about it, so she has an appointment for 2pm today. I do not really want her hair chopped off, so it'll just be a trim. I was thinking... She still has the hair she was born with... the ends have got to need a bit of a cut?! lol.

I shall inform you all how it goes later. Knowing her, she'll freak out when she gets there!

Today I have...

Made a million invitations, Cleaned the whole of downstairs thoroughly... every little corner cleaned, Looked after the kids all day of course, Done lunch, Cooked dinner (rare!), done all of the dishes including dinners dishes, reorganized the wardrobes, tidied our room....

...yet ive still managed to find time to check out wedding things! I need to stop.

Weddings...

I am so obsessed with my wedding. I have not even had the proposal yet it's all perfectly planned in my head! I've come up with several money-saving plans, including the cake, the invitations/place cards, the favors, the dress.....

There is however one thing I am undecided on... Colours.

I would LOVE a black and white wedding. I love black and white. I think that would be so cool. Everything just black... and white.

But is it going to be more hassle than its worth to get everything to fit in with that colour scheme?

So I thought... brown! Whites and Browns and Creams and Golds...

But I cannot find any brown bridesmaid dresses.

So I thought... burgandy... EVERYTHING is burgandy. You could like... buy your whole wedding on ebay, if you were doing burgandy... But its so boring....

Thoughts anyone?

HAIRCUT!

Oooh and I forgot to mention. Joey had his first haircut on Saturday. I called like... 10 different places asking if they would cut his hair and they all said no in one way or another. One stupid woman said "as long as he doesn't wriggle" "of course he'll wriggle, he's 11 months old"... and she proceeded to tell me that i should just ask him to sit still... was she having a laugh or something? was she about to yell "april fools!"??? So... I just cut it myself! Not bad, I have to say!

Chris' Mother.

If theres one thing I hate about Chris' mum... like if I could only pick ONE thing... It would be that she will do EVERYTHING in her power to try and check out the whole of the house, and how clean and tidy it is/isnt. And she usually uses Ella to do so. I cannot stand it. I remember when I mentioned it to Chris, and he said he'd never noticed, then she came round the next day, and sure enough, she was in full nosey form!

Yesterday they took the kids to the park. When they came back, they'd bought Ella a little windmill thing. They were basically still standing outside the front door, and Chris' mum says "Ella show mummy what you've got! Shall we go in the garden to show her what it does?"... Garden is ALWAYS her excuse. To get to the garden, you walk through the back room and the kitchen.

I remember once in our old house (where the set up was similar), Ella was having a 2 year olds tantrum. It was a cold, wet, windy day... and what was Chris' mums solution to this tantrum... "Shall we go in the garden Ella?! Get your shoes, and we'll play!"... They were out there literally seconds before deciding it wasn't the right whether (which she knew anyway), and came back in. It only takes a couple of seconds for her to have a good old nose.

So anyway, she puts Ellas windmill in the garden, but Ella cries. Its Ellas windmill. Why would she want it in the garden?

A few mins later... "Ella wee wee potty"... Ella goes to have a wee wee on her potty which is in the front room, but... "hmmm... what a fantastic opportunity to nose at the state of upstairs", thinks Chris' mum, so she says "Ella want to go upstairs to the toilet?" So of course, Ella then wants to go upstairs to have a wee wee. She like... plants the idea into Ella's mind, so that there is no other option. Well... I was so pissed off with what she was doing that I said "no." They both kept trying to go upstairs, and I just started saying NO NO NO NO NO!... Upstairs was very tidy and clean actually, but I was just so annoyed with what she was trying to do that I didnt WANT her to go up there. Had she said SHE needed a wee, then thats a different idea, but she was trying to get up there using Ella.

Anyway, thats my rant done for the weekend. Today has been nice and boring and uneventful, as Monday's always are. Joey is napping, Ella is relaxing with some cheese... Ahhh fun!

The Arguement...

Playgroup. Ella goes three sessions a week, at currently £5.50GBP per session. They returned to playgroup on 3rd January.

(Due to having the flu, Ella was unable to attend playgroup until this past week, BUT I still have to pay for each session her name was on the register, whether she was there, or not.)

So... thats 2 sessions on the first week back. 3 sessions on the second week back.

On Monday, when Ella went back, I went in to pay for the past 2 weeks. 5 sessions. That's £27.50. I gave them £30, but as they didn't have any change, I said I would knock the £2.50 off this weeks payment, and therefore owe £14.

Today, I go to pay my £14 for this week, and am told "No. The £14 was extra on top of the £16.50 this week."

"No. It wasn't. I paid £30 on Monday, and this is the extra £14."
"You owed £44 for the first three weeks"
"yes. £30 on Monday. £14 here, equals £44."
"And then this weeks £16.50 on top of that"
"No. This £14 is for this weeks sessions"

...and on the arguement continues. So I stand there explaining that there have only been 3 weeks, and this is the total cost for those three weeks. She tries to tell me that there have been four weeks. So I point at my mobile, which displays the date very large... "19th January"...

"this means there have only been three weeks in January, and the first week was only half...."
"shhh! im counting the registers to show you...."

So on she goes... counts out three weeks of registers... but wheres the fourth week?

"right... so theres the first week, second week, this week...... wheres last week?"
"last week was the sec...."
"No, no no. Hold on"

So she starts jotting down different calculations, and I just yelled...."LOOK. I OWE £44. I GAVE £30 ON MONDAY, AND £14 TODAY! THATS THAT. I PAY NEXT WEEKS, NEXT WEEK"

And as she continues trying to work it out, a lightbulb goes off in her head and she realises ... hey... this girls right... and she mumbles "yes it was 3 weeks... £44"...

No apology. No "yes you're right". Just a face like a wet weekend.

I then go on to explain that I pay for each week at the END of the week, rather than the beginning, because thats when I can afford it... and off she goes again

"Well I would RATHER you paid at the beginning of the week to save all this hassle"...

ummm hello. Are you the one trying to finance an obscenely expensive playgroup for a 2 year old?!?! and have you ever complained before now?! no. shes never complained about it before, because its never been an issue, until you are proven wrong by a 19 year old and feel like a thick bitch.

So there you go. There was 5 mins of my day so far! Joey is taking a nap, and Ella is lying on the settee with a blanket and a dolly, watching tv, because she's tired, but doesn't want to go to bed.

Meanwhile, I clean. But I have cleaned everywhere and have nowhere to clean. Now what to do?

Happy New Year

LOL! Wow, its been an age since I updated this thing... But I've decided to make it a new daily ritual as I used to. I will start after I've given the kiddos something to eat!

An update!

Hello everyone. I'm so lame, why cant I keep up with this thing?

So heres an update...

Joey started crawling like... 2 weeks ago or something. He pulled up for the first time yesterday and he's been pulling up like a crazy monkey all day today... even on slippery slidey things. the boy has got a death wish.

We've also started some finger foods. For lunch today Joey had toast!!! He's also had a bit of jam and bread, and some fruit and vegetables too. He's an expert chewer!

Ella is talking up a storm. She spoke to my friend Amy on the phone today and said "Hello Mamy, ooa go shops? shops? byeee Mamy! Go Shops!" and hung up and walked to the front door to go and meet Amy at the shops. Well come on, she made the plans, right? She also asked the man in the chip shop for a "sausage!" when he asked what she wanted, and when the taxi driver asked her her name she said "ELLA!... ooh iss DOEY!" Ella and this is Joey! Wow, thats the first time ive not had to tell someone her name for her. He also asked her how old she was and she said 3. Not quite right, but she understood what he was asking! When you ask her what colour things are, everything is blue, but if you ask her to point out the colours, she knows which ones which, but apparently theyre all blue! She's also been making everyone kiss her "poorly" on her knee. "Poorwy"... awww.

So thats us.

We're moving house in the next couple of weeks too. Fun filled adventures for everyone!

Ella Loves Lou

This was on Sunday, but I still have to share....

Ella loves "lou"... now I dont know where lou comes from but that is what she calls any sort of cream or moisturiser or sun block... So I leave Chris and Ella upstairs and dont expect any harm to come to them , when Chris yells that "me and Ella are going to have a bath"... well, they'd both not long had a bath, so thinking this was suspicious, I ascended the stairs to find this!

Ella and the Lou!

"more please!"

OMG! I gave Ella toast for breakfast, and she just wandered into the kitchen with her empty plate and said... "more, please!" I am so proud of my little girly! She getting the hang of this talking thing!

YAY! GO ELLA!

Say NO to House Hunting

You know you have all these protests and stuff "SAY NO TO ANIMAL CRUELTY" etc etc... There should be one about house-hunting. I vote, it should be banned. How could anyone LIKE house hunting????

Ok... so Im pretty sure I'd LOVE it if i wasnt so bitter about having to leave this place behind. We were going to buy this house which is rented atm, but it appears MILs calculationg were incorrect, and I was being led astray! Turns out we cannot afford it. Any house less than the price we were going to pay for this one, is either a really horrid house, or in a scary unsafe horrible location, so im not happy.

Here is one we're going to view tomorrow night
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-12675629.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy&ep=via_sl

Its a small village about 15 min drive from here, but it mustnt be a very nice area, as all the houses there are really cheap. I dont know though, I've never been there, so we will see tomorrow. I've been looking at the local school report, and its not outstanding, but its not terrible. Maybe I'll ask a few of the locals tomorrow!

But for now... I must clean!

Counting...

So weve just spent a very long time trying to learn to count. She can sort of say some of the letters, and knows how many fingers is 5 (nice and easy!), but is still clueless.

"two... fiy... sees... seyen... two... fiy..."

hehe.

A Birds Sweet Morning Tunes

"BISCUITS! BISCUITS! LOLLY! BISCUITS! BISCUITS! BISCUITS! LOLLY! LOLLY!"

It was actually in a tune of some sort! Hmmm... im not sure whether to call her a clever girl or a greedy girl!

Im getting my hair cut today. My mother is coming around at any time now. My appointment is at 11am.

I am even iller today than I have been. I cannot talk, as Im all croaky because im throat hurts. I have phlegm here there and everywhere. coughing and sneezing is excrutiating! *sigh* when will this end?

Trying to crawl

Joey is so trying to crawl. He moves his feet, and his bum goes up in the air, but he doesnt move his hands/arms, and just ends up with his bum facing north and then collapses. Its so cute. I havent got a photo of it yet, because im so busy encouraging him when hes doing it I forget to get the camera! So to compensate for the lack of a photo, heres a photo of Ella and Joey playing together on the floor today.

In 10 months of living here...

Ella and Lily from next door have only ever played together twice, and that was at each others bday parties! But every day you hear Lily shouting "ELLA! ELLA!" and my non-talking child shouts back "IYIY! IYIY!" oh how they long to play. But it always goes wrong. We were meant to be going next door in an hour. Well Ella decided she could not longer keep her eyes open and has conked out! So thats that playdate called off! *sigh* So to cheer myself up, heres a photo of my babies!

LOLLY! LOLLY!

If Ella asks for another "lolly lolly lolly" again i will drop the whole freezer on her head. Ok, so I wont, but she can now open the freezer and helps herself to the ice pops. if she cant quite reach, shes tapping me and asking for a lolly lolly lolly lolly and she doesnt quit saying it until you get up and get her one!

Ella and Joey both got new shoes yday. Joey got his first pair. Size 3.5G thats half a size smaller than Ella was when she bought her first walking shoes at about 15 months!!!! BIG FEET! Can you believe I spent £16 on a pair of shoes for a 6 month old?! AM I CRAZY! Theyre so cute though (for the americans thats about $30) Ellas were £25 (£50) and dont even fit right! I pay that much money so that i can be sure theyre fitting right, and they dont! So they shall be returning to the store!

Chris has been away since last sunday, thats SEVEN DAYS, and he comes back next friday. thats another what... 5 days?! I CANNOT HANDLE THIS! He was coming home yday to surprise me, but then everything went wrong and he had to turn back and go to work. He was almost home, he'd driven 3 hours, and then had to drive 3 hours back. WHAT A WASTE! poor thing.

Im going to my lovely MILs for dinner today *ugh*, but she did actually have the decency to call me and ask me if i wanted dinner! First time ever! Maybe the fact that I invited myself last week made her realise that being home without Chris isnt quite as hunky dorey as she thinks. IM HUNGRY DAMMIT!

Joey is currently cooing at me. I have to go to the shop and buy milk *omg i so dont want to* because its Ellas nap time in less than an hour. When I go round to the shops i just take the single stroller, because the double takes to long to put up for just a 3 min journey, and it also doesnt fit in the door of the shop! But this means Ella walks. Which on a good day is not a problem, but today is not a good day. this weekend has not been a good weekend.

OH WELL! GOTTA BE DONE!

Ella the Caveman!

So the neighbours just came round to invite us to join in the birthday cake celebrations at the weekend... their daughter is turning 2....
and as they leave I say "say bye bye Ella"... she just waves and starts babbling away in her word-less way, and Lily (the girl next door) says "bye bye ella! look mama, I can see ellas tummy button! bye bye ella see you soon on my birthday. bye bye ella"...
yes i feel like my daughter is a undeveloped sort of... caveman. She just babbles... *sigh*
