The Arguement...

Playgroup. Ella goes three sessions a week, at currently £5.50GBP per session. They returned to playgroup on 3rd January.

(Due to having the flu, Ella was unable to attend playgroup until this past week, BUT I still have to pay for each session her name was on the register, whether she was there, or not.)

So... thats 2 sessions on the first week back. 3 sessions on the second week back.

On Monday, when Ella went back, I went in to pay for the past 2 weeks. 5 sessions. That's £27.50. I gave them £30, but as they didn't have any change, I said I would knock the £2.50 off this weeks payment, and therefore owe £14.

Today, I go to pay my £14 for this week, and am told "No. The £14 was extra on top of the £16.50 this week."

"No. It wasn't. I paid £30 on Monday, and this is the extra £14."
"You owed £44 for the first three weeks"
"yes. £30 on Monday. £14 here, equals £44."
"And then this weeks £16.50 on top of that"
"No. This £14 is for this weeks sessions"

...and on the arguement continues. So I stand there explaining that there have only been 3 weeks, and this is the total cost for those three weeks. She tries to tell me that there have been four weeks. So I point at my mobile, which displays the date very large... "19th January"...

"this means there have only been three weeks in January, and the first week was only half...."
"shhh! im counting the registers to show you...."

So on she goes... counts out three weeks of registers... but wheres the fourth week?

"right... so theres the first week, second week, this week...... wheres last week?"
"last week was the sec...."
"No, no no. Hold on"

So she starts jotting down different calculations, and I just yelled...."LOOK. I OWE £44. I GAVE £30 ON MONDAY, AND £14 TODAY! THATS THAT. I PAY NEXT WEEKS, NEXT WEEK"

And as she continues trying to work it out, a lightbulb goes off in her head and she realises ... hey... this girls right... and she mumbles "yes it was 3 weeks... £44"...

No apology. No "yes you're right". Just a face like a wet weekend.

I then go on to explain that I pay for each week at the END of the week, rather than the beginning, because thats when I can afford it... and off she goes again

"Well I would RATHER you paid at the beginning of the week to save all this hassle"...

ummm hello. Are you the one trying to finance an obscenely expensive playgroup for a 2 year old?!?! and have you ever complained before now?! no. shes never complained about it before, because its never been an issue, until you are proven wrong by a 19 year old and feel like a thick bitch.

So there you go. There was 5 mins of my day so far! Joey is taking a nap, and Ella is lying on the settee with a blanket and a dolly, watching tv, because she's tired, but doesn't want to go to bed.

Meanwhile, I clean. But I have cleaned everywhere and have nowhere to clean. Now what to do?
